Breakout board with SX1503 - SHO-IO16.
The i2c GPIO expander SX1503 has 2 x 8 bit IO interfaces. These ports are addressed via I2C.
The advantage of this module, that each port can be supplied independently with an operating voltage of 1.2V to 5.5V.
The operating voltage of the SX1503 (VDDM) can also be 1.2V to 5.5V regardless of the port.
Both 8-bit ports can be configured with simple PLD functions.
- True bi-directional style I / O
- Programmable pull-up / pull-down
- Push / pull outputs
There is a 3.3V LDO on the SHO-IO16 board, which can be operated with a max. 300mA can be loaded.
This LDO can be used to supply the module if VDDM, VCC1 and VCC2 are supplied with 3.3V.
Otherwise this LDO can be used to supply the other components around the module.
The kit is supplied with 2 x 14 pin headers. The module fits into a DIP28 (15.24mm) IC socket.
Software support, e.g. offered in Arduino and GitHub. ( There are also 2 software projects under GitHub. )
Note: The pull-up resistors for the I2C bus are not integrated on the board. This gives you more options
to integrate the board into existing circuits. The calculation of the pull-up resistors can be found in the
Documentation I2C_BUS_Spec_2014.pdf.
